As a Technician, you’ll work in a team responsible for keeping production flowing, meeting performance goals, and maintaining the high level of quality consumers expect from our products. We hire you at entry level, and you advance by demonstrating growing levels of operating, maintenance, and leadership skills. We also provide you with the opportunity to expand into electrical, quality assurance, team leadership, making batches, and other areas of expertise. Our Roles

Whilst working as a technician there are several areas in which you can specialise with each area being equally important when it comes to making our leading products. And remember, no matter where you begin with us you can take your career to new and exciting areas with our training and support.

Plant Technician

As a Plant Technician you would normally own a piece of equipment and one or more of our Run-To-Target systems. Ultimately you will be responsible for autonomously operating production lines whilst contributing to the line, department and business unit results through your individual efforts.

Role Requirements
Some experience and skills in manufacturing processes is preferred, this may include operating, maintaining, and cleaning equipment and using basic hand and power tools. Without these skills, evidence of following processes, a strong desire to learn and help others are key attributes that support our teams in winning.

Training
You will be provided with a Training Book to guide your learning along with mentorship, coaching, and guidance, as well as all the necessary training needed for you to work efficiently, safely, and successfully.

Engineering Technician

In this role you will be the go-to person for all things electrical and mechanical on the production lines You will be responsible for the electrical design, operator interfaces, automation, PLC programming and related elements connected to the production flow in the plant.

Role Requirements
Engineering Technicians are required as a minimum to possess a HNC qualification and a recognised electrical apprenticeship from an accredited college in the UK. Depending on the level of the role, you may also require extensive experience of electrical work performed within manufacturing-related environments and/or industries.

Quality Assurance Technician

As a Quality Assurance Technician you would analyse raw materials, intermediates and finished product to demonstrate quality compliance and allow release of finished product. On a day-to-day level, this involves sampling, testing, calibration, and data analysis. But you'll also have wider responsibilities within our great team.

Role Requirements
Quality Assurance Technicians are required to have worked in a manufacturing-related environments and/or industries where they have demonstrated good laboratory practices and all standards rigorously and have experience in identifying deviations from quality standards and taken appropriate action.

Making Technician

As a Making Technician you would make our products using our unique formulae and sourced ingredients, combining them together and overseeing production to ensure high consistently, the best possible quality, and all to our strict safety standards.

Role Requirements
Making Technicians are required to have worked in a manufacturing-related environments and/or industries where they have demonstrated set up, operating and tending to machines to mix or blend materials for cosmetics, food, or pharmaceutical productions, and have followed all standards rigorously to achieve consistent quality standards.

You will be provided with a Training Book to guide your learning, receive mentorship, coaching, and guidance, as well as all the necessary training needed for you to work efficiently, safely, and successfully.

CAREER PATH

Technician Tracks

In order to enable our people to succeed and grow, we offer a wide range of development opportunities and provide the right tools for you to build a long-term career at P&G. Our Technician Progression Track offers a view of what our current career path could be for somebody who enters the company as a Technician.

RT1 level is our starting point and with learning on the job and skill progression the opportunities can open up and lead to specialised skill areas. Each employee has a personalised career path and it is a personal choice on to choose which path they would like to take.

Technician Pay

Pay for Roles

Starting at RT1 our weekly pay increases along four pay points (A to D),each one acknowledges skill-building relevant to your Training Book (our skills guide). When you have completed all skills relevant to the grade (ie after point D) and have been able to demonstrate your skill levels consistently in your work to date, you would get this chance to work at the RT2 level, again with a Training Book to guide your learning progression at the new level, and you would again move through four pay points as you advance your skills.

SHIFT PREMIUM

We apply a shift premium for any role working a shift pattern. The amount paid will depend on the pattern. As at December 2023 our technician roles work a 24/5 pattern and we are applying 22%.

CHRISTMAS BONUS

We pay a bonus based on two weeks’ pay in early December if you have worked a full year, or one week's pay if you have worked for at least six months in your first year.
